Pumpkin week

It was so great to be back to school this week! Our theme was pumpkins and we enjoyed painting pictures of pumpkins, learning about how they grow, and even digging inside.  We were able to use some of our new materials purchased from trike-a-thon this week! The class loved the new materials to build with and we starting using our new class IPad!  So fun!  We are using it to show short clips on the letter of the week and our color song, and also as an independent station.  We love to use the "Letter School" app where we practice tracing our letters.

Shake your sillies out!  We were yawing our "yawnies" out at this point.  This is a fun brain break song.

We LOVED having the Lafayette Fire Department visit us. They taught us all about fire safety and the parts of their uniform.  They showed us their truck and some of their handy tools on board.  We can tell they love us and want to keep us safe. :)

Our objects that start with letter C.

"Orange you glad we're this cute?!"  ha!

Making pumpkin observations.  We drew it, measured it, weighed it, counted the ribs and even dug out the seeds.

This was a hit this week! We used kid friendly hammers and tees to hammer into the pumpkins.  This was good for our fine motor skills and just fun!

We predicted whether our pumpkins would sink or float.  We were surprised that they floated. :)

Happy Jack-0-lantern faces

We rotate which friend each day gets to practice their letters on our new IPad.  We love this new addition to our learning.

Digging in!
