Fun with space and dinosaurs!

We have had a blast the last two weeks learning about space and dinosaurs...definitely two of the favorite themes in preschool! Check out some of the cool things we've been doing. :)
Everyone loved making constellations with marshmallows and toothpicks. We had some very creative star creations!
WOW!!! Can you believe how many pop tabs we've been collecting for Preston? We sure have big hearts in preschool and always want to help others.
We wrote each individual letter of our name on squares and then had to put them in reverse order to make an awesome rocket ship.
We also stamped our numbers backwards starting at 10 so we could say "blast off" at the end.
We used this carpet time area to identify the planets. We even learned a song that taught us our planets in order from the sun and could point to them. What smarties!
Our drawings of our friends are showing so much growth! We can now add tiny details like ears, fingers and designs on our friends' shirts for our student of the day book. I'm so impressed with the progress!
What a complex design!!!
At this point in the year, we really know how to share a space and toys to work and play together...pretty amazing!
It was fun to paint our own planet and show the difference between land and water.
During dinosaur week we used our different dinosaur models to see what their footprints would have looked like. We learned how different each dinosaur was from the way they looked in size, to their movement to what they ate.
After the horrific events of last week's tornados, I knew this would be the perfect school to step up and help our neighbors. We are collecting gently used books for the kids and teachers of Henryville. The books started pouring in! Thank you!
We learned that scientists study dinosaurs based on their fossils. We used our own "fossils" to create a dinosaur skeleton and named it.
We had a birthday this week and our birthday boy brought in some yummy treats for us. Happy birthday buddy!
