Halloween week

What a fun week! We loved making some not too spooky crafts and dressing up in our costumes! I loved spending time with Buzz, Alice, a jaguar, a pirate, Captain Hook, a swamp monster, a cheerleader, and an Indian Chief. It's not everyday you get to hang out with those characters. :)

We had to sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" while we were sitting on the web. :)

We made a web and tried to lift and move our spiders without letting them fall. This took some good teamwork!

Our marble art projects-spider webs!

A special birthday! Happy birthday sweet boy!

Another Buzz stopped by to say hello

Look at these cuties!!! Love it! :)

Pumpkin Fun

Studying pumpkins allowed us to do a lot of neat artwork and science this week! We loved learning about the outside of a pumpkin and then getting inside to see what's really in there. :)

Predicting if it will sink or float?????

The kiddos picked a lot of interesting objects to test out.

We used all kinds of tools to make pumpkin pictures. :)

Mr. Potato Head parts make for an interesting pumpkin!
Our pumpkin puppets were fun to sing with.
This little pumpkin had a birthday this week! :)
We enjoyed having an extra hand Wednesday to help us with our projects.
Some of us preferred to use our hands while a few of us enjoyed the spoon to scoop out the pumpkin's insides.
Our baked cinnamon and sugar pumpkin seeds smelled a little better than they tasted according to the "panel." :)

Enjoying this beautiful October weather!

Trike-a-thon

THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping us have another great trike-a-thon! Thank you for your awesome donations to help our school! The night was a blast and a huge success. :) Here are a few shots of our kiddos.... when I could track them down. :)

Apple Week #2

The apple fun continued this week with several new apple crafts, books about picking and baking with apples, and a little more taste testing. Our hands were busy this week as we dug into the centers with our friends and tried some new things.

Working hard at the sensory table with measuring, scooping and pouring

We can build anything we want when we let our imaginations take over...how about some binoculars?

Or a flying object?

This sure looks like a couple of kindergartners to me...cutting, gluing and even reading basic sight words! WOW!

We worked with friends this week and tried some new puzzles.

Everyday we use the blocks and different building materials in the room to create something new.

Here are two videos of our wondeful singers! :)

Apple Week

This week we had a blast learning about apples. Since it is also fire prevention month, we were lucky enough to have The Lafayette Township fire department visit us for some fire safety tips and a look at their uniforms, cool tools and trucks! It was an exciting week!

This is our "class band" that likes to meet each day when they arrive. :)

Apple stamping

Studying the inside of an apple

We loved seeing the firefighter dressed in all of his gear.

A few of us were brave enough to sit close while others enjoyed their seat a few feet away better! :)

Such good listeners learning about the firetruck

The whole crew-Thank you Lafayette Township Fire Department! We loved having you visit us!

"Ring around the apple tree"

We ended our week with a visit from Mrs. Lois who taught us about how we can help the children in Romania.

Pet Week

This week we enjoyed sharing information about our cute pets at home and doing many animal activities to go with our theme. We have settled into our routine and enjoy working at the centers with our friends, going outside, having snack, reading many books, and learning new songs with our teachers at carpet time. Next week we get to jump right into fall with our new theme, "apples."

Here we are following directions on a song that has us move our body in different ways. We love this song, "Listen & Move."

One of our classmates brought in a new "pet" doggie for all of us! We each gave ours a name and put it on their name tag.
