Fire Safety Week and Grandparent's Day!

This week our theme was fire safety but our highlight of the week was definitely our special guests visiting us at school!  Thanks to all of the grandparents and other special friends that were able to enjoy the morning with us!
New table top stations

A special baseball shared by our student of the day
We traced, stamped, colored, wrote, cut apart and glued our new color word of the week back together.  This helps it stick in our memory. :)
This week we worked on measuring with non standard units.  We used lego blocks to measure common household items.  We even estimated first. We sure are smart!
Putting my pencil on my ear just like Daddy. :)
We used wicky sticks to shape the letters we've been covering in class.
This friend brought in a real firefighter helmet for our theme!  So cool!
Our very special and loved guests!

Another morning table top activity

We used visual step by step directions to help us draw a firetruck.  We even wrote the word fire. :)
Mrs. Traci always reads us a Bible story while we have snack.  We love this special time and enjoy learning about how God loves us!
A few more pictures of fun activities around the room.

Weather Week!

It's beginning to feel a little more like fall outside so it was the perfect week to learn about weather.  Through many non-fiction books about types of weather to silly stories about wind and rain, we loved reading and singing about weather all week.

Making clouds with shaving cream and glue
Working hard on our weather book

Thanks for sharing this great book to go with our theme!
Our student of the day shares his special toys.
Look at these clouds!

We loved working on our cutting skills in the sensory table all week

We use rhymes to help us remember how to write our letters and numbers correctly.  So for number 4 this week, we said, "Down and over, then down some more, that's the way to make a 4!"  We sure are smart!

Another fabulous book brought in to share for our theme!
A treasure from home :)
Reading our weather books

It's fun to explore the light table

We read It Looked Like Spilt Milk about clouds that look like other objects.  We spread a blog of paint in a folder piece of paper and used our imaginiations to create our own cloud pictures.  So fun!

Silly friends!!
