Friends and Family Week!

We had so much fun this week talking about our special families and our new friends in class!

Each morning the kids find their name and do their table top center.  Each center is a literacy, math or fine motor related activity.

Our color word this week was red.  We can spell and read it by singing the song.  Just go to YouTube and search for "red color song."
We painted handprints with a friend and made them into flowers-so sweet!

Look at these superheroes ready to save the day!
We love story time each day.
The weather has been beautiful!

More table top center time!  Such smarties!

Sharing our "L" objects was so much fun!

We had 3 Leonardos!
2 Ladybugs!
A lemon and a lime
Lalaloopsy and Lamb
Lip gloss and lotion
Legos!
Light saber, lion and lantern
Library book and Lightening McQueen
We are working hard on knowing the letters in our name. It's always more fun when you paint them!
We used counting bears to determine how many girls, boys and pets lived in our house.  We pointed and counted each one, determined which column had more and colored in our graph.  Such great math skills to get ready for kindergarten!
We love play doh!
Hanging with friends
We love water coloring

We made a book about all of our friends in class and hope you will read it at home together.  We worked on touching under each word and reading the sentence "I can see..."  They loved this book and were surprised on each page to see a new friend.  This will help them learn the names in our class too!
"Look I see you!"  So sweet!

Look at her read! :)

We love to go to the green room and do the minds in motion maze!  So good for our bodies and minds!

Look at all of these red cuties! Such a fun week!

Our First Week!

We had an awesome first week of school getting to know each other!  This is such a sweet class!
Our theme was all about me and we learned each other's names with several games.  We worked on recognizing the letters in our own names, putting the letters in order by building, and writing them-so smart!
We enjoyed the books, The Kissing Hand and Chica Chica Boom Boom and centered several of our activities around those.  We painted self portraits which are too cute hanging outside our class and weighed and measured ourselves.  The growth in Kinder Prep is so fun to watch!  And of course we had a ball playing with old friends and new.  This is going to be a fun year!
