Ocean Week

It was a fun week exploring the ocean and all of the cool creatures that live within.  Of course the shark was the favorite and everyone wanted to learn all about sharks....did you know some sharks can have over 50,000 teeth?!  That's what we learned this week. :)

student of the day

What a cute crab!

Painting "moon rocks" for the Kids Care Alliance camps in Louisville.  They use moon rocks for their summer camps for kids with cancer.

We are SOOO good at ten frames now!  I bet your child can look at a specific amount filled in on a ten frame and tell you what it is without even counting.  They are that good at recognizing combinations now.  They can also tell you how many are missing to get to 10 (combinations of 10).  Such good number sense for next year!

These sharks are cute and not so scary!

Listening for the ocean

We have a classroom full of confident readers!  Have you heard them read their poems in their poetry notebooks?  Amazing!!

These boys figured out that our magnets stuck to the picnic table.  Love the discovery!!! They had a ball sticking everything to the pole.

"X is in the word box"

And T-Rex

And fox

And several other fun words like X-Ray, Max and Knox!

We are so fast at matching letters and sounds now!

Look at these writers!! So proud!

We had a grandparents being in her pet duck!!  A real, live, adorable duck!  Mrs. Jaime held it for us and walked around to show the classes.
