I think I went a little crazy on the pictures this week! We were having so much fun with our theme snow and ice that we had to get the camera out often. It's funny because now they request that I take their picture when they are proud of their work. So cute!
On Monday we got busy right away exploring ice. Each child got an ice cube, an eye dropper, a cup of water and a pinch of salt. Their job was to explore ways to melt their ice cube. So fun!
Making our own snow globes
Matching uppercase and lowercase letters
We love wicki stix
In this activity, we would spin our spinner to get a part of the snowman. Then we graphed it and added a tally mark. :) We were able to visualize which snowman part had the most and by how many.
A favorite this week was melting and breaking open ice in the sensory bin.
Fun at free center time

Using different size round containers, we focused on large, medium and small and made our own snowmen
We are getting so smart at ten frames. We can read a number and decide how many dots to give the frames. So smart!
We loved our popcorn/pet shop party for filling our class bucket to the top! Our pets kept us company all day long.
We have blank little booklets in the writing center and this friend is illustrating her own snowman story. :)
Counting out buttons with a buddy for the number represented on the snowman's hat. Great teamwork friends!

The Little Snowman song and dance
We are using our basic sight words to write and read sentences at carpet time each day. We are learning that letters and words are different, that we read left to right and that each word gets read when we point. We are building the foundations for early reading. :)
