Our New Friends!

This week our theme was "Friends."  We focused on learning and writing our friends' names and working together on a task.  I am so proud of these little ones and how well they play together!

What a great structure! 

This week we started our skill sheets which help us practice the letter, number, shape, color word, counting task and pattern of the week.  We are so big when we come to the table and do our work. :) 

We also started our "student of the day."  Each student of the day shares special things from home in the blue box.  We also focus on their name and draw a picture of each friend.  These masterpieces make a book that our star student gets to take home.   

Look how we use the appropriate colors to draw our student of the day.  We are focusing on drawing details and features on our friends. :)  So cute! 

Each day we sing our letter sound song so it sticks in our memory while our teacher points to each letter.

At the writing center, we got to write our friends' names beside their picture.  This was a fun one to take home too so our parents get to see who is in our class. 

 

We drew a new friend and wrote their name.  We love to play together in class!

Our first week!

We had such a great first week!  I am so proud of these little ones and how well they worked together in class.  This week our theme was "all about me" and we were able to paint self portraits, tell about our favorite things and get to know our new friends.  Mrs. Traci and I know it's going to be a fun year! :)

I loved all the self-portraits!  Look how we used the correct colors for our hair and eyes.  We sure are smart! 

 

Each day we enjoy 1-2 books during carpet time.  This week our books were about starting a new year of school.

Our teacher cut our name apart and we were able to glue it back together in order and then write it.  We are discovering that our name is a word made up of individual letters. 

 

Mrs. Traci painted our hands for our paper that will show how much we've grown this year.

It was a wonderful first week of school!  We can't wait for next week. :)

 Kinder-Prep!  I love all of their answers. :)  We had such a great first day.  Everyone was happy, got a long really well with each other and came to the table to do their "work" with their teachers.  Mrs. Traci and I are so excited about this year.  Thanks for helping your kiddo get off to a great start today.
