Community Helpers Week

We had a great week learning about jobs in our community.  It gave us a chance to discuss the jobs our parents do and what job we might want to do when we grow up.  We loved having our guest speakers in to teach us about their job too!  It's always a treat to have parents in our room so thank you!
Making tracks with cars through paint
This smartie used magnetic letters to spell all of his color words!
We read our own book on community helpers
We made our own tool belt so we could be construction workers.
Our sensory table was a hit with diggers and little rocks to scoop.
Our housekeeping area hosts real food item boxes with a grocery cart and cash register.  We can shop and buy with our friends. :)
Good work friend!
We are loving our little mailboxes where we file all of our work!
Grier's Daddy taught us several ways you can grow plants in a Greenhouse.  We learned a lot about his job and passed around many items he uses in his job.

Claire's Mommy taught us all about the radio and let us record our voices on her computer. We loved hearing our voices play back with funny tones. ha!

We voted on our favorite job and which one we might want to be when we grow up.  We used our last names to mark our answers.

We practiced measuring because we know many jobs, such as a construction worker, need to know how to properly measure to do their job.  We did a great job lining up the ruler and finding our answer.
Owen's Daddy taught us about being a police officer and even had a police car come visit us.  We loved talking into the speaker on his car and hearing our voices really loud!

We used rulers and markers to try a new kind of art...ruler art where our picture had only straight lines.
We enjoyed making our own chef hats.
And one little friend had a birthday and brought in treats to share. Happy birthday buddy!
