Pet Week

This week we enjoyed talking about our pets at home.  We used pets as a way to graph the number of different kinds of animals we have, categorized pets by how they moved and even set up a vet in our class complete with students writing prescriptions. :)  We are only 4 weeks through school and already know the routine of our day and how to work with our friends. Mrs. Traci and I are SO proud of the little smarties in our room!
Look at us writing and stamping words!

Friends at School!

This week's theme was Friends.  We have made so many new friends in class...in fact we have 17 new friends. :)  We spent the week trying out the new table top centers, making some great artwork with friends, studying our friends' names and learning how to be a good friend. I am SO proud of our little class and the way we make others feel good and included when we play!
Using pattern blocks to make pictures
Already writing words in preschool!
Looking at a pattern and then following it
Our sensory table had new items to stack and build with
Our handprint and a buddy's made a pattern
Working together
It tickles when Mrs. Traci paints our hands for crafts. :)
We enjoyed 3 new student of the day's this week. This friend had a homemade microphone.
Reading together in the class library
Finding each number and stamping them out
We took turns putting all of our names on a chart.  We can count the letters in our friend's names, determine who has the longest/shortest name, clap the syllables and  talk about the letters within.  We'll keep this up for a long time so we can spell each other's names. :)
We painted self portraits. These were so adorable!  I kept these for their special portfolios that you'll get at the end of the year. Here are a few of them.

We love our family board! Thank you for all of your help with this project!
We played hot potato this week during carpet time. It was a hit!
What great puzzle work!
We've started working on skill sheets. I make these up each week to include our new letter of the week, number, shape, color and other skills we are working on. Don't we look like big kids? :)
A good looking bunch!
And some silly faces!

Family Week!

Our family week at Lafayette Academy was extra special with so many special visitors in the building. Thank you so much to all of the grandparents that were able to stop by and hang out with us at school.  The smiles below show how excited the kids were to have their special someone at school.

We started our table top centers this week.  Each morning you find your name on the table and have a different activity to work on. Of course they are doing a fabulous job! :)

We can trace, stamp, color and write our name. We are such smarties!

Happy birthday to you!

Good work!

What a great zoo!

We began student of the day this week. This friend shared his favorite costume from home. We are working on our speaking and listening skills during student of the day.

Graphing the members in our family

These girls were working hard on their art creations with bingo dotters.
*Thanks friends for another fabulous week!  See you Monday. :)
