Butterfly Week

This week we continued our insect theme learning about butterflies! The kids are getting used to me taking pictures all of the time so now they just come up to me with their creations and ask me to take their picture. ha! They are very proud of their work and should be. :)
They love to make pictures with pattern blocks
This friend drew her own butterfly. :)
Making a caterpillar with circles but also making a great pattern! Way to go!
More pattern block creations :)
Nice teamwork boys!
This friend brought a book to class that he had worked on with his family and read it to the class!
Butterfly painting at the easel
Great building!
We learned that butterflies are symmetrical and worked hard to make one side match the other.

Getting our feet painted for a special butterfly craft tickles! This little guy had to raise his arms to stand the tickles. ha!
By painting one side of a butterfly, closing our paper and reopening, we discovered both sides were the same!
Pasta noodles helped us see the life cycle of a butterfly.

Happy happy birthday!!

Pre-K Happenings :)

I got some time on this rainy Saturday to update our preschool blog. Here are some pictures of your kiddos in action from the last few weeks. Feel free to share our blog link with your family and friends. :)
We started something new each day called table top centers. The kids come in and find their name and work on the activity in front of them. We have centers working with patterns, counting, number identification, letter matching, word work, fine motor skills, puzzles and more. The kids love it and it gives everyone a chance to try something new each day and sharpen their kindergarten skills. :)

Look at these boys working together to make some elaborate ramps and tunnels!
These friends discovered we had two copies of this book and decided to read together-pretty smart!
We are loving the Spring weather!
How sweet are these rainbows for St. Patrick's Day?
Keeping the beat to our favorite music
During ocean week, we had to get out our hermit crab. He was fast on this day and we had to build him some walls so he wouldn't get out. :)
Well who are these kiddos? ha!
Our sensory table was full of interesting ocean creatures during ocean week.
During Easter week, we discovered that the Easter bunny had stopped by our room while we were on the playground!! He left a huge mess in our room and white footprints everywhere! We didn't mind though because he left us eggs filled with candy.
Remembering the real reason we celebrate Easter
Good work friend!
Can you believe we are already using repetitive sight words to read? We are already looking like kindergartners!
During insect week our sensory table contained brown colored rice, magnifying glasses and lots of insects to explore. We love the sensory table!
Insects with our thumbprints! We even know that they have 6 legs, 2 antennae and 3 body parts-such great scientists!
One friend read a whole book to us that he had been working on with his family. That is amazing!

What a great looking insect! Next week is butterflies...stay tuned!
