Last week of school!
We spent our last week of school finishing up projects and having fun with our friends and teachers. We worked hard getting our portfolios completed and practiced our songs for graduation night. Our last day of school was spent at Puzzles Fundome with our family and our whole school! What a great way to end the year.
* Thank you SO much for such a wonderful year! Mrs. Traci and I have enjoyed your kiddos and we thank you for letting us be a part of their lives! This has been such a special class and we will miss everyone so much! Be sure to keep in touch. I would love to hear how your summer is going and of course kindergarten. :)

Working hard
This week our theme was horses and we did a few horse projects and read books about race horses, but we also spent a lot of time getting ready for our graduation. :) We worked on our lovely songs that we'll be performing for you at Kinder Prep graduation and finished up projects that will go in our portfolios. Here are some odds and ends from this week. :)

One friend brought in a cool snail to share with us!

We are still having student of the day each day. Reese colors his picture.

Insects!
We enjoyed learning about our creepy, crawly friends the insects the last two weeks! We learned the specific characteristics that make an insect an insect through songs, books, discussions, dancing and art projects. We know all about their 6 legs, 3 body parts, antennae and sometimes wings. We are pretty smart scientists at LAP!
Painting the ladybug
Adding the eyes
Even princesses like to learn about insects
Searching for real insects on the playground led us to some worms!
Care for a worm anyone? :)
WOW! Nice writing kiddos!
We love diving into our new themed books each week. This author found a different butterfly representing every letter of the alphabet on its wings. We thought that was
pretty neat.
Ryan's grandma visited us with her amazing insect collections!
Thanks Mrs. Sue for coming and sharing...you helped us see what we had been learning about all week!
We blotted paint on one side of the butterfly and folded it to see that each side was the same-a perfect example of symmetry.
We started "student of the day" this week. Each day we draw and write about one of our friends in class and then we each get to take home a big book all about us!
The page we create for our friend
We used pasta noodles to represent the lifecycle of the butterfly
Using watercolors to paint coffee filters made for some colorful butterflies
